Progression
Gear progression will follow levelling rewards into dungeons, PvP and raids. Blizzard has confirmed that Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps introduce new raid rewards, including new tier sets and a legendary reward that has not yet been fully revealed.
Stats
Class-specific stat priorities will stay with each class guide. Forever changes abilities, talents and gearing, so stat rankings copied from another version of WoW will not be treated as valid without Forever testing.
Phase lists
Best-in-slot and target-item lists will be phase-aware. New raids unlock on 9 December 2026, with additional raids and dungeons planned later, so launch recommendations will not quietly include equipment from future content.
PvP gear upgrades and Honor
WoW Forever's announced PvP progression separates spendable Honor from Rank Points used to advance through ranks. Epic PvP gear upgrades require the corresponding blue-quality item plus an Emboldened Seal, and seal access depends on PvP rank. Rank 14 also includes epic weapon rewards.

Checked 22 October 2026. The right item depends on your class, role, ability scaling, activity and the content phase when the item can actually be obtained. Forever revises talents, baseline spells and itemisation, so original-era rankings cannot simply be carried over.
Start with these five questions
- What role is this character performing? Tanking, healing, melee damage, ranged damage and PvP utility can change the value of the same attribute.
- Does the item support your abilities? An upgrade is only useful when its weapon type, stats and available talent interactions match the build you can currently use.
- Can you obtain it in this phase? The first new raids, including Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair, are scheduled for 9 December. Do not list their equipment as available at 4 November launch.
- What is the acquisition cost? Check dungeon access, profession materials, PvP rank, Honor, upgrade tokens and attunements before calling a piece a realistic target.
- How was its value verified? Separate source-confirmed item mechanics from community estimates and actual observed performance.
PvP purchases versus upgrades
Honor is spendable, while Rank Points advance your rank. Epic PvP upgrades require the associated blue item and an Emboldened Seal, and different seals unlock at different ranks. Consult the PvP rank reference before planning an upgrade path.
Class-specific equipment planning
Rogues should first verify weapon requirements for the chosen talents; a two-dagger Mutilate setup is not interchangeable with every Combat weapon option. Priests should separate healing and offensive spell priorities rather than using one gear list for both. Our Rogue and Priest guides now explain those differences.
