Station Levels & Objectives Explained
Understand Station Levels and objectives, including important stable progression milestones and how to prepare before advancing.

Overview
Station Levels form the backbone of Outworld Station progression. Objectives introduce new systems and push the factory toward increasingly complex production, exploration and logistics.
How to approach each Station Level
Treat a new level as a capacity check. Before chasing the next objective, make sure existing resource, power and logistics systems can support another layer of production.
Do not dismantle useful objective chains
Many objective products or their intermediates remain useful later. If a production block works well, keep it, reduce its rate if necessary and blueprint the design.
Important stable milestones
The current stable progression includes the Servitor Station at Station Level 8. Quantum Extractors become unlockable at Station Level 11. Level 12 introduces major late-game systems including Helion, Exo-Planet operations and large-ship infrastructure, while Version 1.1.1 adds an objective associated with the Mk2 Manufactory.
Ship CPU progression
Version 1.1 introduced direct CPU control for ships and awards additional CPU points as Station Levels increase. This means progression expands not only factory options but also the number of ships that can take active orders.
Prepare resources before advancing
Build reserves of common intermediates before starting an objective that introduces expensive new infrastructure. This prevents the objective from consuming every component needed to keep the rest of the station growing.
Prepare power and logistics
Check generation reserve, transport capacity and storage before placing new systems. A progression unlock may be technically available before the station is economically ready to use it at scale.
Late campaign progression
The stable campaign eventually leads into the Void, Arkship construction and the objective to escape the Void. These systems depend on the production and ship infrastructure built through earlier Station Levels.
Best progression rule
Advance when the existing station is stable, not simply when the objective button becomes available. A healthy production network makes every later level easier.
How to use a level milestone
For each new level, write down the newly required building and the materials feeding it. Compare those requirements with available production, storage and power headroom. Set a realistic delivery plan and ensure shared intermediate components will not be completely drained by the unlock. Only then pursue the objective in earnest.
Version 1.2 changes the endgame
After the Arkship launch and campaign completion, the stable game now provides randomly generated missions from the Arkship Terminal. Completing them earns Station Prestige Points and unlocks random level rewards. This replaces the earlier description that treated missions and Prestige as beta-only; neither is required to complete the original campaign finale.
Keep important unlocks distinct
The Servitor Station was moved earlier to Station Level 8 in Version 1.1, and the Mk 2 Manufactory received a Station Level 12 objective in 1.1.1. Use these as checkpoint markers while checking the current game's objective panel for the exact construction requirement.
Updated for Outworld Station 1.2.0.2. Feature changes verified against the official developer patch notes; check live recipe values in the game's Codex.
Practical calculation workshop: Scheduling a station-level objective
Worked example, not an official game recipe: A future milestone requires an illustrative 1,500 components. The component line makes 75/min under load, and a separate shipyard consumes 15/min from the same supply. The objective therefore receives only the remainder.
Inputs to record in your own save
1,500 component goal, 75/min gross production, 15/min competing demand. Copy the relevant measured rate, recipe ratio, storage limit and transport capacity from the in-game Codex, Calculator or Production Overview before using these figures for a real build.
Step-by-step calculations
- Net available output:
75 − 15 = 60 components/min. - Earliest production-only completion time:
1,500 ÷ 60 = 25 minutes.
How to interpret the result: Time excludes transport, one-off construction, existing stored stock and other objective dependencies.
Putting the numbers into practice
If the objective has a deadline you care about, check each required intermediate and reserve its output rather than assuming all displayed capacity is available. The actual station-level milestone is read from your current objective panel.
Sanity check before spending materials
If the objective receives nothing despite the factory producing, confirm whether another consumer is draining the stock first or whether a filter is blocking its destination.
Important distinction: the formula is reusable, but these example quantities are illustrative, not verified Outworld Station building statistics. Recalculate using the values displayed by your exact technology tier and active recipe. Round required machine counts up to whole modules; when a route is slower than production, use the route's measured delivery rate in capacity calculations.
