Class overview
Levelling is a core part of Forever rather than an inconvenience to sprint past. This page will become the central route and milestone guide.
Levelling 1–60
The journey
World of Warcraft: Forever runs from level 1 to 60 across the original continents and expanded areas. Blizzard now advertises more than 1,000 new quests across the reimagined Azeroth, rather than the earlier 100-plus estimate. Exploration can reward experience, gold and achievements, making travel and discovery meaningful parts of levelling.
Class routes
Each class guide carries levelling advice tailored to its toolkit. Levelling now also feeds the account-wide Legacy System: every class earns a Legacy Point at levels 25, 45 and 60. Blizzard has reworked class progression with new abilities, talents and milestone choices, so routes will account for when important tools and Legacy milestones arrive.
Route testing
Zone order and dungeon breaks should be checked against the final launch build. Blizzard's 20 October dungeon guide now confirms level ranges for all nine new dungeons, from Hall of Thanes (13–18) to Shaper's Terrace (58–60). Legacy perks such as Well Rested, Talented and Frequent Flier can also affect levelling decisions. Avoid presenting early beta speed routes as settled.
Legacy can change the 1–60 journey.
Adventure-tree perks such as Well Rested, Talented and Frequent Flier can improve the levelling experience once Legacy is unlocked. Legacy Points are account-wide for eligible characters, so later alts can benefit from progression already earned elsewhere on the account.
VIEW LEGACY LEVELLING PRIORITIES →Confirmed information for the 1-60 journey
WoW: Forever launches as a level 1-60 journey through the original continents, with familiar regions expanded by new stories, quests and locations. Blizzard has specifically highlighted Riverglades, Mount Hyjal and Zephras Isle. Skyborne characters use Zephras as a dedicated level 1-12 starting experience.
Levelling feeds directly into Legacy progression. Each class awards Legacy Points at levels 25, 45 and 60. Most players therefore unlock the Legacy System when their first character reaches level 25, although tradeskill and exploration routes can unlock it earlier.
The beta ended on 21 October 2026. Blizzard's 8 October build increased experience from dungeon creature kills by approximately 20% and corrected party XP penalties, so earlier beta speed-route comparisons are unreliable. The official 20 October dungeon overview now gives all nine new dungeon level brackets. We will test efficient level 1–60 routes against the 4 November launch build before calling any path optimal.
Rechecked 22 October 2026 against Blizzard's final beta development notes and the 20 October dungeon guide. All levelling speed rankings are still provisional.
GUIDE STATUS
Built to stay accurate.
Confirmed systems can be documented now. Tuning, drop tables, market values and performance rankings remain clearly provisional until they can be checked against the live game.
RETURN TO WOW FOREVER GUIDES →New dungeon level brackets: plan group stops around your route
Official dungeon ranges, verified 22 October 2026. These are access and planning brackets, not a measured fastest-levelling route. Match the range to your current quests and travel rather than crossing the world for every instance.
- Hall of Thanes (13–18): Dun Morogh, beneath Ironforge
- Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20): Tirisfal Glades
- Excavation Site (24–29): Wetlands
- City of Dalaran (28–33): Alterac Mountains; faction-specific access quest
- The Drowned City (35–40): Stranglethorn Vale coast
- Krol'dok Stronghold (40–45): Riverglades
- Alcaz Prison (48–53): Dustwallow Marsh
- Blackmaw Hold (55–60): Azshara
- Shaper's Terrace (58–60): Un'Goro Crater
When is a dungeon worth the detour?
- Check that the full group is in an appropriate level range and has the same ruleset and compatible faction.
- Collect available quests and relevant profession materials along the way, rather than travelling solely for unverified XP-per-hour estimates.
- Remember that some entrances involve faction territory or an access chain. City of Dalaran has faction-specific attunement starting quests, so plan before your group arrives.
- At levels 55–60, distinguish near-endgame dungeons from raids. Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair unlock on 9 December 2026, not the 4 November game launch.
