Class overview
Start simple
Forever includes official controller support and lets players choose Classic or modern visual presets plus HD or SD character models. Start with the built-in interface and accessibility options before deciding which addons actually solve a problem.
Compatibility
Forever-specific addon compatibility will be checked against the beta and live client. Addon APIs and individual projects can change, so compatibility labels will carry update dates rather than being copied from another WoW version.
Useful categories
Blizzard has also confirmed opt-in Transmog. This guide will cover useful interface categories such as combat information, bags, professions, navigation, accessibility and raid organisation once each recommendation is verified for Forever.
GUIDE STATUS
Built to stay accurate.
Confirmed systems can be documented now. Tuning, drop tables, market values and performance rankings remain clearly provisional until they can be checked against the live game.
RETURN TO WOW FOREVER GUIDES →A safe interface and addon setup
Pre-launch setup, checked 22 October 2026. Forever has official controller support and classic/modern presentation options. This guide separates built-in features from unverified third-party addon compatibility.
Start with the built-in options
- Choose a visual preset that is comfortable to read during combat, then adjust text readability, nameplates and interface scale to suit the screen you actually use.
- Try the built-in controller features first if playing with a gamepad. Confirm targeting, interacting, camera movement and key utility spells before relying on the setup in group content.
- Keep important information visible: target health, relevant buffs and debuffs, castbars, threat or group warnings where the native UI provides them.
- Test both solo play and a small group. An interface that is comfortable in a quiet starting zone might hide useful information during a dungeon pull.
When an addon is worth installing
Choose addons to solve an identified problem, not because a different WoW version's must-have list recommends them. The main categories worth testing are inventory management, profession materials, quest notes, accessibility, group organisation and encounter information. Addon names and versions will be listed only after testing against the Forever client.
Forever compatibility checklist
- Check that the addon author explicitly supports WoW: Forever and the relevant client build.
- Keep a record of version, download source and test date. Avoid copying addon files from an unrelated Modern, Classic or Season of Discovery setup without checking compatibility.
- Install in small batches; test login, combat, bags, map, profession windows and group encounters after each change.
- If the UI errors or prevents an action, disable the most recently added addon, reload and check the issue again with the default interface.
- Use trusted distribution sources and do not run unrelated executables or share account credentials to obtain addons.
Launch status
No specific third-party addon has been verified in this guide as compatible with the final 4 November 2026 release. We will add exact addons only alongside tested versions and links. Official interface/presentation context: Blizzard's Forever What's Next recap.
