Prepare for the Ashlands' climactic Forsaken, survive Fader's relentless fire-heavy encounter and complete the seventh major boss stage of Valheim's progression.
3× Bells used at the Ashlands altar · Fire-heavy Ashlands encounter · Fader progression rewards
Forsaken Power: +100% Adrenaline gain, 50% reduced stagger meter modifier and 50% fire resistance for 300 seconds.
Fader is an endgame encounter in a biome already designed to punish poor preparation. Bring upgraded Ashlands equipment, your strongest food and consumables, reliable fire mitigation and a build you can sustain through a long fight. Establish a secure route and nearby portal before the summon so a death does not become a sightseeing tour through the Ashlands.
Use upgraded Ashlands-tier equipment. Fader resists pierce and is immune to fire, so favour strong blunt, slash, frost, lightning or poison options rather than fire-focused gear.
Use your strongest Ashlands foods matched to your build and carry substantial healing and recovery supplies. Fire protection and careful resource management are important in the long arena fight.
Clear surrounding Ashlands enemies before starting and learn the terrain around the arena. Maintain open escape routes and avoid allowing environmental hazards or wandering enemies to compress your movement.
Fader applies sustained pressure with powerful physical and fire-based attacks while forcing frequent repositioning. Treat the fight as an endurance encounter: read each major attack, move deliberately and deal damage during safe windows instead of trying to trade through everything.
Fire and lingering danger zones can quickly turn a safe position into a bad one. Keep moving when the arena becomes hazardous and maintain appropriate resistance.
Watch both Fader and the arena. Ground effects and incoming attacks can overlap, so plan where you are moving rather than simply sprinting away from the latest problem.
Preserve stamina or Eitr for defensive movement and recovery. An empty resource bar at the wrong moment is remarkably effective at converting endgame armour into decorative corpse equipment.
Attack during controlled openings and reposition before the next major attack. Preserve enough stamina or Eitr to escape dangerous ground effects rather than committing every resource to damage.
Defeating Fader guarantees five Kindled Ribs plus the Fader Trophy. The Kindled Ribs are used to build the Eternal Pyre, carrying Ashlands progression forward toward Valheim 1.0's Deep North.
Use upgraded Ashlands equipment, strong food and substantial recovery supplies. Treat the encounter as an endurance fight and prioritise surviving major fire and ground attacks over squeezing in one extra hit.
Maintain spacing and communicate when the arena becomes unsafe. Rotate pressure rather than having every player commit to the same dangerous damage window.
Return Fader's trophy to the Forsaken altar to unlock his Forsaken power. From here, Valheim 1.0 continues into the Deep North, where the final stage of the boss journey awaits.
