Verified 1.1 level: 64
Willfred resides in Gracefall Village in eastern Dunley Farmlands.
The village is populated by humans during the day, with its inhabitants transforming into werewolves at night.
This makes the time of day an important consideration.
Travel to Gracefall Village before nightfall.
Identify Willfred's location while the village remains relatively manageable.
Prepare your equipment, blood quality and consumables before the transformation occurs.
Once night falls, locate his werewolf form and begin the encounter.
Swipe: up to two close-range claw attacks, extended when both connect.
Rage: Willfred glows red and rapidly bites several times while pursuing the player.
Lunge: he drops to all fours before launching forward, dealing heavy damage and a long stun on contact.
Heart Strike: Willfred becomes invisible, circles his target and reappears with a lunge that applies a delayed explosive effect. The application must be evaded rather than countered.
Prisoner phase: below roughly half health, prisoners are released from the cages. Willfred attempts to consume them to restore health, so deny him easy targets.
Reach Gracefall Village during the day.
Identify Willfred and choose an area with enough room to fight.
Avoid beginning the encounter while several additional werewolves are already pursuing you.
Wait until Willfred transforms.
Begin with ranged damage and observe his opening attack.
Avoid immediately approaching in melee.
When Willfred approaches, prioritise avoiding his attacks.
Wait for the complete combination before approaching with your Greatsword.
Deliver a short counterattack and retreat.
When Willfred prepares a lunging attack, watch his animation.
Use ordinary movement where possible and preserve Veil for attacks that cannot otherwise be avoided.
If nearby werewolves become involved, use area damage to manage them.
Avoid allowing the encounter to spread across unexplored sections of the village.
Maintain controlled damage and avoid rushing the final portion of his health bar.
Ensure you have enough nighttime remaining to complete the encounter and extract his V Blood.
On Brutal, Heart Strike also summons a Frost Wolf for each player in combat. Deal with the added wolf pressure without losing track of Willfred's reappearance. The prisoner phase remains critical: remove accessible prisoners before he can feed and turn the encounter into a healing loop.
Begin early in the night so the fight cannot simply be ruined by sunrise, humanity's oldest and most irritating vampire counter.
Defeating Willfred grants a Tier 3 Spell Point, Silver Resistance Potion, Pristine Leather Bag, Elixir of the Werewolf and Longcase Clock decoration progression.
Do not commit to a long melee combination while Willfred is in reach. Let his swipes finish before counterattacking. When he glows red and begins pursuing with rapid bites, concentrate on maintaining distance until the sequence ends.
Watch for Willfred dropping to all fours before his lunge. Save movement for the committed attack rather than using it to chase him. During Heart Strike, anticipate his reappearance and avoid the application of the delayed explosive effect; the guide's recorded mechanic requires evasion rather than a counter.
When prisoners are released, Willfred can feed on them to restore health. Deny him accessible targets while continuing to avoid his main attacks. Letting repeated heals through can undo a large portion of your progress.
Solo: Preserve your escape skill for lunges and prioritise preventing prisoner heals over squeezing in another attack. Reset your spacing whenever Willfred disappears.
Co-op: Agree who will watch the prisoner phase and avoid stacking together during his pursuit attacks. On Brutal, each player should be prepared for the additional Frost Wolf pressure described above.
Check your newly available spell point and the listed potion, bag and crafting options. The Silver Resistance Potion and Pristine Leather Bag progression are especially relevant when preparing for longer resource-gathering trips, while the new spell point broadens combat choices for later bosses.
