Simon Belmont the Vampire Hunter V Rising boss guide artwork

Simon Belmont the Vampire Hunter is part of the Risen Ancients V Rising 1.1 boss-guide progression. This guide covers where to find the encounter, the attacks that matter, a practical Normal strategy, Brutal Mode considerations and the progression rewards.

Location and preparation

Verified 1.1 level: 80

Location: Roaming roads across Vardoran, Vardoran.

Attacks and abilities

Key attacks

Holy Water: bottles split into smaller projectiles and leave persistent fire pools.

Whip Barrier: Simon spins the whip defensively in front of himself, damaging nearby targets and blocking pressure from that direction.

Whip Grab: a long-range lash that pulls you in and follows with a kick and stun.

Cross: a returning boomerang projectile; later phases can produce three at once.

Daggers and Axe: ranged weapon throws, with the daggers carrying Fire damage and the axe producing an impact shockwave.

Whirlwind Whip / Flame Tornado: large close-range area attacks, with Flame Tornado also restricting the arena with fire.

Mending Cross: at low health Simon shields himself, emits rotating holy beams and regenerates. Breaking the barrier stuns him.

Holy Bolts: after Mending Cross, bolts continue falling from above for the remainder of the fight.

How to beat Simon Belmont the Vampire Hunter

Fight Simon at night and favour mid-to-long range. Fire Resistance is valuable because several attacks create or inflict Fire damage. Save movement for Whip Grab and overlapping hazards. After Mending Cross begins, either use the window to recover or aggressively break the shield for the stun; the final phase becomes progressively more crowded.

Brutal Mode strategy

Simon is already an unusually complex encounter on Normal. On Brutal, use conservative movement and avoid spending your dash simply for damage. Reliable current evidence does not establish a separate additional 1.1 Brutal-only move strongly enough to state one as fact.

Rewards and unlocks

Defeating Simon unlocks the Sanguine Whip and, in version 1.1, an additional Passive Slot. He can also drop high-end weapon loot.
