Verified 1.1 level: 37
The Haunted Iron Mine in Dunley Farmlands is a major Iron Ore location.
However, it contains stronger enemies than those found in most of Farbane, so prepare before attempting a substantial mining expedition.
Iron is also available in other suitable deposits across the region. The mine is useful, but not the only possible source.
Double Swipe
Quincy performs two consecutive melee strikes with his mace.
Counter: Move away from his front and wait for the second attack before approaching.
Shock Wave
After a brief wind-up, Quincy performs a knockback melee attack that applies a minor Ignite effect. Four wavering shockwave lines then appear and explode after a short delay.
Counter: Escape the initial melee attack, identify the shockwave paths and move into clear ground.
Mace Throw
Quincy throws his weapon towards the player's position. The projectile tracks movement and applies a snare if it connects.
Counter: Preserve Veil or a defensive spell for this fast attack. Avoid remaining stationary while attacking.
Chaos Barrier
Quincy raises a reflective shield. Attacking it directly can cause your attack to be reflected and apply Ignite.
Counter: Stop firing direct projectiles into the shield. Wait for it to finish or use an appropriate area attack that does not trigger its reflection.
Summon Minion
Quincy summons a Bandit Trapper.
Counter: Eliminate the Trapper when practical, particularly before another charge sequence begins.
Merciless Charge
His shield flashes before he charges forward, dealing heavy damage and stunning players caught in his path.
Counter: Dodge sideways once his direction is committed.
Triple Charge
At approximately half health, Quincy begins using three consecutive charges.
After the third, he becomes briefly stunned.
Counter: Avoid all three charges, then use his recovery as a major damage opportunity.
Clear Quincy's accompanying bandits first. His delayed ground fractures give you time to move, while his charge should be dodged laterally rather than outrun. Do not fire projectiles into his active barrier because reflected pressure can turn your own attack against you. During his repeated-charge sequence, use terrain and walls to force poor charge angles and create punish windows.
Persistent flames and a stronger summoned enemy
Quincy's Brutal encounter introduces three important changes: his summoned Trapper becomes a Stalker, his charges leave damaging flames, and Triple Charge can occur repeatedly rather than being restricted to a single sequence.
Normal versus Brutal
Mechanic | Normal | Brutal
Summoned enemy | Trapper | Stalker
Merciless Charge | Direct charge damage | Also leaves flames
Triple Charge | Introduced at half health | Can repeat
Arena control | Avoid shockwaves | Also manage flame trails
Main additional threat | Immobilisation | Stalker pulls and burning ground
The Stalker uses a ranged spear attack that can pull the player towards her.
This is particularly dangerous because Quincy may already be preparing a charge or shockwave.
Eliminate the Stalker when practical rather than allowing her to remain active indefinitely.
Quincy's charges leave flames that apply Ignite.
You must therefore avoid both the initial charge and the hazardous ground left behind.
Don't immediately cross his previous charge path to reach him.
Triple Charge can happen more than once.
Treat every new sequence as a complete three-charge attack rather than assuming you've already survived the encounter's major phase transition.
Keep a defensive spell available for Mace Throw or the Stalker's ranged attack.
Use short ranged damage windows, especially when flames are restricting the arena.
Prioritise removing the Stalker, and reserve your ultimate for Quincy's post-charge stun when possible.
A player discussion from October 2025 also highlights the usefulness of ranged combat, blood quality and defensive spell choices for this encounter. Its suggested late-game preparation route is optional and considerably more involved than our intended first-playthrough build.
Quincy's rewards make him one of the most important early progression bosses.
