V Rising 1.1 boss guide for Goreswine the Ravager, covering location, key attacks, Normal and Brutal Mode strategy, rewards and progression.

Goreswine the Ravager is part of the Risen Ancients V Rising 1.1 boss-guide progression. This guide covers where to find the encounter, the attacks that matter, a practical Normal strategy, Brutal Mode considerations and the progression rewards.
Verified 1.1 level: 27
Goreswine patrols between the Desecrated and Infested Graveyards in southern Farbane Woods.
Use V Blood tracking to locate him, then observe his patrol rather than immediately attacking.
His escort consists of four Armoured Skeletons. Inside the graveyards, additional undead can become involved, so fighting him on the road is generally preferable.
Goreswine can encounter other roaming enemies, including Lidia and Alpha. These encounters can weaken him, but relying on another boss to do your work is an optional shortcut rather than the standard strategy.
Corrupted Skull
Goreswine fires a ranged skull projectile that snares the player on impact.
Counter: Move sideways as he prepares the projectile. Avoid being immobilised while standing near existing poison clouds.
Bone Explosion
Goreswine creates an explosion that leaves a poisonous cloud behind.
Counter: Leave the targeted area before detonation and avoid immediately moving back into the lingering hazard.
Quad Explosion
Goreswine creates four poisonous explosions and teleports to another position.
Counter: Focus on escaping the affected ground before locating his new position.
Ultimate Explosion
Around half health, Goreswine temporarily becomes invulnerable and releases three consecutive waves of poisonous explosions before teleporting.
Counter: Stop attacking, keep moving into clear ground and wait for the entire sequence to finish.
Brutal: Enhanced Corrupted Skull
The projectile also applies damage over time.
Counter: Treat avoiding the projectile as a priority, particularly when existing poison clouds restrict movement.
Brutal: Additional Bone Explosions
Goreswine produces more explosions per cast.
Counter: Maintain a larger area of clear ground and avoid fighting near walls or other obstacles.
Track Goreswine until he reaches a suitable section of road.
Before committing to the boss, eliminate escorting skeletons where practical. Fighting Goreswine while four additional enemies are surrounding you makes avoiding poison considerably harder.
Keep your distance and establish an open fighting area.
Begin attacking with your Copper Crossbow or ranged spell.
When Goreswine launches Corrupted Skull, move sideways and avoid allowing the projectile to interrupt your positioning.
Use the period after his attack to deal damage.
As poisonous explosions appear, move into clear ground.
Do not simply retreat in one direction until you reach a wall, tree or another obstacle. Try to keep an open escape route available.
When Goreswine creates four explosions and teleports, prioritise escaping the hazardous ground.
Only resume attacking after you've located him and established a safe firing position.
This is the encounter's most important phase.
Goreswine becomes temporarily invulnerable and creates three waves of poisonous explosions.
Stop attacking completely. Concentrate on finding clear ground and avoid spending your movement ability before you need it.
Once the sequence ends and Goreswine teleports, re-establish your distance and resume ranged pressure.
Continue using short damage windows between attacks.
Avoid approaching Goreswine simply because his remaining health is low. His poison clouds remain dangerous throughout the encounter.
Greater area denial
The documented Brutal changes increase the danger of Corrupted Skull and add further Bone Explosions.
The recommended approach remains ranged combat, but positioning becomes even more important.
Normal strategy | Brutal adjustment
Maintain moderate distance | Preserve a larger escape area
Avoid Corrupted Skull | Account for its additional damage over time
Move around Bone Explosions | Expect additional explosions
Attack between abilities | Use shorter damage windows
Clear escorting skeletons | Make clearing them a priority
Most important Brutal advice: do not allow yourself to become trapped between poison clouds and terrain.
