V Rising 1.1 boss guide for Cyril the Cursed Smith, covering location, key attacks, Normal and Brutal Mode strategy, rewards and progression.

Cyril the Cursed Smith is part of the Risen Ancients V Rising 1.1 boss-guide progression. This guide covers where to find the encounter, the attacks that matter, a practical Normal strategy, Brutal Mode considerations and the progression rewards.
Verified 1.1 level: 65
Cyril is located in the Cursed Village in the Cursed Forest.
Use V Blood tracking to identify his location and approach the settlement.
The Cursed Forest can complicate navigation, particularly when travelling without suitable equipment. The Shroud of the Forest is useful for managing the region's navigation effects.
Clear surrounding enemies where practical, repair your equipment and identify an area with sufficient movement space.
Avoid starting the encounter while several other enemies are already attacking you.
Preparation checklist
Cyril fights with an arsenal of spectral weapons, each copying a recognisable weapon ability.
Sword: dashes forward and cleaves.
Spear: creates distance before throwing a fast piercing spear.
Mace: rises and slams down, releasing a spiralling ring of damaging spheres.
Slashers: performs rapid slashes followed by a forward-and-back dash.
Spectral weapons: Cyril forges floating copies that repeat their associated attacks. At roughly half health he can create all four, and at low health he gains a repeated four-dash sequence.
Destroy spectral weapons before they accumulate. Their individual health is manageable, but overlapping sword, spear, mace and Slasher attacks quickly make the arena unreadable. Keep moving so the fast spear does not catch you stationary and use multi-hit or area weapon skills to remove floating weapons efficiently.
The 1.1 Brutal encounter retains the spectral-weapon escalation and is particularly punishing when multiple conjured weapons survive. Prioritise the floating weapons, preserve movement for the spear and dash sequences and do not turn the fight into a damage race while the arena is filling with spectral attacks.
Defeating Cyril unlocks Veil of Illusion, an additional Passive Slot, the Anvil, Advanced Furnace and Dark Silver Ingot recipe.
Keep a moderate distance, identify which weapon Cyril is using and take short damage windows rather than committing to a long melee combination. Remove a spectral copy when it appears, especially if its attack is restricting your escape route.
Cyril can bring out all four spectral weapons from around 50% health. Switch priorities: clear the copies with multi-hit or area skills, then return damage to the boss. Chasing Cyril while four independent attacks remain active is usually a worse trade than spending a few seconds reducing the number of threats.
From around 30% health, watch for his repeated four-dash attack. Preserve mobility, track the entire sequence and only commit to a finishing attack once you have a safe opening. Do not assume that the first dash marks the end of the move.
Solo: Make clearing spectral weapons the default priority. You cannot rely on another player to occupy Cyril while you recover, so avoid prolonged trades and save movement for his faster patterns.
Co-op: Agree who will focus on summoned weapons when they appear. Spread out enough to avoid drawing multiple attacks through the same narrow space, but remain close enough to help remove copies quickly. This is a team tactic, not a claim that Cyril has different co-op abilities.
The Anvil opens advanced weapon crafting, while the Advanced Furnace improves your forging options. The Dark Silver Ingot recipe is an important material unlock for progressing into stronger equipment. Cyril also grants Veil of Illusion and an additional Passive Slot in the guide's tracked 1.1 reward set. Check your current spellbook and crafting stations after claiming the V Blood, since available spell choices and progression displays can differ between versions.
