Beatrice's level and location are consistent across the newer boss listings. Her Normal and Brutal encounters differ substantially, so they deserve separate walkthroughs rather than a few extra sentences bolted onto the end.
Beatrice does not fight conventionally. She runs through Dawnbreak Village while nearby villagers and militia create the actual combat pressure.
Clear or avoid nearby enemies before committing to the chase. Use travel skills and ranged attacks to maintain damage while moving, and avoid allowing the pursuit to pull you into Christina the Sun Priestess or a large militia group.
Brutal difficulty fundamentally changes the encounter.
Beatrice initially behaves as she does on Normal, fleeing and attracting militia. However, at approximately 50% health, she transforms into a Gargoyle wearing a shawl and recovers roughly a quarter of her health.
She then becomes an aggressive combat boss.
Double Slice
The Gargoyle dashes towards the nearest player and performs two slicing attacks.
Counter: Avoid the initial dash and remain clear until both strikes finish.
Front Leap
She leaps towards the nearest player and lands with an area attack.
Counter: Move sideways as she commits to the leap.
Chaotic Landing
She flies into the air, then crashes down towards the farthest player after a short delay. The impact creates an area attack that applies Ignite.
Counter: Watch the landing indicator and move clear before impact. Avoid remaining in the resulting hazardous area.
First half: Clear the immediate village area and pursue Beatrice as normal.
At 50% health: Stop treating her as a fleeing civilian. Reposition and prepare for the transformation.
After transformation: Maintain medium distance and use ranged attacks between her leap and slicing animations.
Use the militia strategically: The village guards become hostile towards her transformed Gargoyle form. They may therefore distract or damage her during the second phase.
Final phase: Avoid Chaotic Landing, preserve your defensive ability and attack during her recovery windows.
Unlike Normal difficulty, there is a reason not to eliminate every militia member before starting. Leaving a manageable group alive elsewhere in the village can provide assistance once the transformation occurs.
Beatrice's main purpose in the progression route is unlocking the production chain needed for better armour.
Reward | Purpose
Loom | Textile production
Cloth | Crafting material
Cotton Yarn | Important armour material
Hunter's Cloak | Equipment recipe
Assortment of Curtains | Castle decoration
These crafting rewards are consistent across the current boss references.
The sources currently disagree on her additional power. The community wiki lists Veil of Blood as of Patch 1.1, another current guide lists a Tier 4 Blood Spell Point, and Stunlock's support documentation associates Human Form with Beatrice.
We should verify the reward against the target game build before publication, rather than present three contradictory unlocks as though they were interchangeable.
Recommended progression
Return to your castle and construct the Loom.
Gather Cotton from farms throughout Dunley.
Produce Cotton Yarn using the newly unlocked recipe.
Combine textile production with your existing Tailoring Bench.
Craft the remaining Hollowfang armour pieces.
Review your weapon, jewellery and armour levels before continuing through Dunley.
This is a significant equipment milestone. Quincy unlocks the Tailoring Bench and Hollowfang recipes, while Beatrice supplies the textile production needed to make practical use of them.
