From Prototypes to a Proper Risen Ancients Ecosystem
The last two weeks have been less about one dramatic milestone and more about turning Risen Ancients into a proper connected ecosystem for games, guides, media and development.

The last two weeks have been less about one dramatic milestone and more about turning Risen Ancients into a proper connected ecosystem.
Development has continued across our game projects, with Bloodhold taking shape as a vampire survival and base-defence prototype while Unthreaded has gone through a much-needed reset to make sure its design and technical foundations actually match the game we want to build.
At the same time, Risen Ancients itself has expanded beyond being simply a home for game development. The website now brings together Risen Ancients Gaming, Risen Ancients Media and Risen Ancients Guides under one roof.
Bloodhold has moved from concept into a working Unity prototype. The basic player controller, camera and interaction systems are now in place, giving us the foundation for the darker survival and stronghold-building systems that will come next.
There is still a long way to go, but this is the point where Bloodhold has stopped being an idea on a page and started becoming an actual game.
Unthreaded has taken a different route. Rather than continuing to bolt new systems onto a project that had become increasingly disjointed, we decided to return to the design itself and establish a clearer architecture for the game going forward.
The aim remains a polished puzzle game built around screws, plates, colour matching and increasingly demanding levels, but the rebuild should give us a much cleaner foundation for procedural content, progression and future polish.
The Guides side of Risen Ancients has also grown substantially. World of Warcraft: Forever is the first major guide library, with class guides alongside broader guides covering levelling, professions, gear, dungeons, raids, PvP and the new Forever systems.
The intention is not for Guides to stop with World of Warcraft. Other games will be added over time, creating a growing library of practical guides that can be maintained as games change.
Risen Ancients Media is being developed as the creator and content side of the wider project. The aim is to support video, streaming, creator projects and future collaborations while keeping everything connected to the same Risen Ancients identity.
It is still early, but the foundations are now being put in place rather than leaving Media as another idea sitting indefinitely on the list.
The biggest change is that these projects no longer feel like unrelated experiments. Gaming, Media and Guides now have their own identities, but they sit within one Risen Ancients ecosystem.
There are still prototypes to build, guides to finish and plenty of things capable of breaking in Unity for reasons known only to Unity. But the overall direction is considerably clearer than it was a few weeks ago.
That is probably the most important progress of all.
